About Ecofilter Tek

Ecofilter Tek was founded in 2021, building on a groundbreaking innovation developed at Université de Sherbrooke by co-founders Dr. Farhad Farnia and Dr. Yue Zhao. Our mission is to address a critical gap in the filtration industry, which has traditionally depended on conventional polymers, by leveraging cutting-edge advancements in surface chemistry to deliver more efficient and sustainable solutions.

Farhad Farnia – Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder (Scientific Business Developer)

Following his PhD at the Université de Sherbrooke (Canada), Dr. Farnia co-founded Ecofilter Tek. With a profound understanding of the industry, gained from his roles as a Production Manager and R&D Manager, he developed a unique business model for Ecofilter Tek that enables market entry with minimal capital requirements. His expertise in scientific business development places Ecofilter Tek in a strong position to leverage market potential and bring Charge-Switch Technology to the forefront.

Yue Zhao – Chief Scientific
Officer & Co-Founder

After earning his PhD at the École Supérieure de Physique et de Chimie Industrielles de Paris (France) and serving as a Professor at the Université de Sherbrooke (Canada) since 1991, Dr. Zhao co-founded Ecofilter Tek. He is a distinguished polymer scientist with over 250 publications, recognized globally for his contributions to polymer science.

Alireza Abbaspourrad
– Director of R&D

Dr. Abbaspourrad completed his PhD in Organic Chemistry at Isfahan University of Technology (Iran) and worked as a post-doctoral researcher at Harvard University (USA) for six years. In 2015, he joined Cornell University’s Department of Food Science as an Associate Professor, where he leads a team of 40 researchers. He has co-authored over 260 publications and holds more than 25 patents.
